Frequently Asked Questions

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural approach to keeping you healthy. It recognises that the body is self healing and self regulating and is under the control of the nervous system.

The brain and body communicate via the nervous system and rely on this communication to keep you healthy. When there is interference to the communication, the resulting compromised state can affect your body’s ability to function well. Chiropractors refer to this as a vertebral subluxation.

The goal of chiropractic is to bring about the correction of any subluxations in your spine that may be compromising brain-body communication. This improves spinal and nervous system function and overall health and wellbeing.

Who can receive Chiropractic care?
All people of any age may benefit from chiropractic care. Babies from a few days old to seniors with spinal degeneration come in and see chiropractors. It’s never too early or too late to start looking after your spine and nervous system.
How long will it take until I feel better?
The length of time that it takes will vary with each patient and his or her individual health goals. There are many factors that influence the healing process ~ age and chronicity of the presenting condition are two factors.

Initially visits may be more frequent to help stabilise the spine and improve the function of the nervous system and with time the frequency of visits is less.

Some people notice changes soon after they begin care, while others find it may take many weeks or months, especially if the problem is chronic.

Regular progress examinations are included to make sure that you’re on track to reach your health goals.

How much will it cost?
The cost will vary depending on your goals and the amount of care required to help you to reach your health goals. We have different fee options and also family fees to make care more affordable for families.
Do you take ACC?
Yes, you can use an ACC spinal code if you already have an ACC claim active. You can also come directly to the chiropractor if you think that you have had an injury that will be covered by ACC.
